Location

Located in the US state of Nevada, is where Area 51 (as most of us know it) resides. It is actually a US military base, officially called Homey Airport or Groom Lake. It’s a secret base that really isn’t much of a secret anymore. It’s located in a desert next to a large salt flat, around 80km Northwest of Las Vegas. The closest town to the base is Rachel that has a population of just 56 people.
What we do know is people don’t just drive to work like you and I. Suggestion has been made that jets fly out of McCarren International Airport under the name “Janet Air”. These flights go daily to and from “somewhere in the Nevada Desert”. Air traffic control indicate that the somewhere is Homey Airport (KXTA)
What is it?
The base was officially first mentioned in 2013 following the release of de-classified CIA papers detailing how the base had been used to test the Lockheed U-2 spy plane during the cold war. From 2018, the base was officially added to Google Earth, having previously been censored on satellite images.
The base is heavily guarded by what enthusiasts refer to as “camo dudes”. These are armed men who guard the perimeter fence around the base. It is not clear who employs these dudes but it is widely thought it is an external contractor. Signs around the base clearly warn passers-by that photographs are not permitted and that base staff can and will use deadly force if needed.

Sightings
UFO sightings around the base area started in the late 1950’s. People reported strange objects in the sky that moved and looked nothing like aircraft of that time. Many pilots reported seeing crafts very high in the sky, however we know now that at that time the U2 spy plane was being tested around 65,000ft up.
Throughout the years, these reports continue provoking the question about if alien crafts are located on the base.

Bob Lazar
You couldn’t discuss Area 51 without mentioning Bob.
In 1989, a radio station did an interview with a man named Bob Lazar. He made bold claims that he was in fact employed at Area 51 in “Sector 4”, an underground section of the base connected to Area 51 by masses of tunnels and even its own railway system.
Of course, immediately a statement was made by the Airforce stating categorially that Bob Lazar had never worked on the base nor was he employed by any Government body.

There are many who think his story is bogus, but equally as many who feel he speaks the truth.
The press quite rightly looked into Lazars background when he first came out with his claim. Here was a man who claimed to have worked on reverse engineering a UFO craft deep underground and in secret. The press strangely found no evidence of any formal qualifications of Lazar, who later claimed these were wiped out to discredit him. Yet when interviewed, he demonstrated advanced engineering and scientific knowledge. But was that just well-rehearsed?
Lazar spoke openly about an ‘Element 115’ that he used in his work at the airbase. At the time, there was no recorded element 115. It wasn’t until some years later that element 115, or Moscovium as it was named, was synthesised by Russian scientists. How was it that Lazar was able to talk about its use some 14 years before it was discovered?

One sceptic who believes his claims to be false, states Lazar embellished his own knowledge of engineering and put this together with information obtained by a contractor working on the air base. This was then combined with a previous claim made by John Lear and concocted into a plausible story by Lazar. His motivation? Simple – financial gain. Hoping to get himself a pot of money from Bob Bigelow who at the time offering funding into UFO research. Having watched multiple interviews with Bob, I always get the feeling he is somewhat sorry for ever speaking out publically. He claims his life was changed and changed for the worse following his story being aired. I am not convinced that financial gain was his motive.
It is also suggested that in the same year that Lazar discovered the use of element 115, an article appeared in Scientific America that could have given him an idea of which to base his claims.

Following a recent Netflix documentary, Lazar was again subject to overly comprehensive searches of his home and work space. He had just had a private chat in his house with the film’s producer, discussing if he ever kept a sample of element 115 (which he flat out refuses to answer) when suddenly swarms of agents arrived. They simply said they were looking for paperwork relating to a previous customer of Lazar’s who may have had access to toxic materials. Fair enough you could say, but are we expected to believe that a) the swarm of armed agents coming was a coincidence and b) why missing paperwork warranted the FBI, Homeland Security, NASA, 25 agents and a humungous forensic team? Seems very suspicious to me and lends credibility to Lazars claims.
Bodies and crafts
The big question on everyone’s lips is ‘Does Area 51 house evidence of UFO technology and or alien beings themselves?’
According to Boyd Bushman, the answer is yes. Bushman, an aerospace engineer, claims he was posted to the base which he also says was staffed by both human and aliens. Quite a claim.
Since the days of the infamous Roswell crash in 1947, rumours have been rife. Robert Miller made a statement in 2018 that he had in fact been a pilot of a UFO made from the remains of the parts collected from the Roswell crash within Area 51 base. He stated the craft was able to travel at the speed of light.
He states “I do remember they brought me inside the craft and up to the pilot’s seat. There was only room for one person in the giant craft.
I looked around the cockpit and only saw a seat. No joystick, no steering wheel, no other controls. There was, however, a helmet. They told me the craft was controlled telepathically. I was told to imagine the craft starting to float off the ground, but it didn’t work”
He went on to explain that the craft actually crashed and he ended up in hospital. He also has many photographs like the one below showing alien beings he says were present at the base.

According to former Canadian defence minister Paul Hellyer, 80 different alien beings live amongst us here on Earth. One of these is the so called “tall whites”, who he says work with humans within Area 51. This is backed up by a claim by Phil Schneider who states there are 7 levels under area 51, each level being home for various types of aliens and alien experimentation. Schneider claims he knows this from working as a Government geologist and engineer.
Tourist Trap
So convinced are the general public that a Facebook event was created in 2019 where over 500,000 people agreed to ‘storm the base’ to finally reveal the aliens inside. Not surprisingly, it didn’t end up coming off and ended up being just a giant party held close to the base. The event, named ‘Storm Area 51’ found that people suddenly changed their mind when faced with the might of the ‘camo dudes’ and their multiple weapons.

One fun, and you could even say commercial, thing to have come out of all these sightings has been the creation of the ‘Extra-Terrestrial Highway’. Running alongside the area in which Area 51 is located, Route 375 runs for just under 100km. As a way to promote the smash hit movie Independence Day in 1996, the press held a little get together in the area where the new name was adopted.

Along the way you can visit the Extra Terrestrial Research Centre, more commonly known to us as a gift shop, rather than anything scientific.
Also along the highway lives the famous black mail box. It’s located in the middle of nowhere with no house in sight. Many say you can leave messages here for the aliens, but I am not sure communication would be as easy as that! Again, it’s a popular point that attracts tourists to the area.

Literally everything located along this route is themed around Aliens, adding thousands of dollars to the local economy.
Lawsuits
Attorney Jonathan Turley was asked to represent a group of Area 51 workers who had become sick from working at the base. The Government would not declassify the nature of the ‘toxic chemicals’ used at the base and so the workers’ insurance companies would not pay their medical bills.
During this time Turley claims his offices were placed under surveillance, he was threatened with arrest and his clients were told they would face prosecution. Witnesses claimed that toxic materials were placed in trenches the size of football fields then doused in jet fuel and ignited. He states that people were so intimidated; he had to meet clients in car parks and motels. He stated “The burning at Area 51 was in all likelihood a federal crime. But the government escaped responsibility by hiding behind secrecy: How could the law be applied at a place that did not exist for the burning of unknown things?”
One of the claimants, named Bob Frost, had his tissues analysed following his death. One of Americas top scientists found that the tissue contained a substance that was “exotic and unidentifiable”.
Conclusions
Chances are we will never truly know what has and still happens in Area 51. The tales of what allegedly go on there are mind blowing and truly amazing if they are to be believed.
If you couple the strange tales of underground testing, alien beings/crafts, toxic mysterious chemicals and unidentified flying objects overhead, it certainly appears more goes on there than we are led to believe and probably needs wider disclosure. But let’s not hold our breath!
