The idea of a huge hairy apelike creature piloting a spacecraft takes Bigfoot and UFOs to a whole new level of ridiculousness, but there is a mounting body of evidence suggesting the two seemingly separate phenomena could be linked. Let’s go down the rabbit hole and explore some of these theories in more detail.
First and foremost, Bigfoot and Greys couldn’t be more different physically, but there are some similarities in their abilities. Bigfoot’s have proven impossible to capture or kill leading to speculation that they possess a skill currently unknown to science. Countless testimonies report Bigfoot dematerialising or becoming transparent ‘predator’ style. Similarly, with UFO sightings, most notably the ‘Phoenix Lights’ incident, observers described a gigantic transparent object (size gauged by its lights) hovering in the sky. Currently, there is no known (official) technology that can create invisibility, yet Bigfoot and UFOs both seem to have it perfected.
Bigfoot and UFOs have also been reported together in the same incidents. A notable example was documented in Project Blue Book (#10798). In 1966 in Presque Island State Park Pennsylvania a vehicle containing four adults and two children got stuck in sand at Beach 6. As they awaited rescue, they noticed a star like UFO object moving across the sky. It descended into nearby woods causing their vehicle to vibrate. Officers who attended were taken into the woods to search for the light source by the adult male. Those left in car then witnessed a 6 foot tall bipedal apelike creature emerge from the woods which circled their vehicle and clawed at it leaving marks. The women screamed and the creature retreated back into the woods. They all then witnessed the UFO shoot up into the sky shortly afterwards. The case was marked as ‘unsolved’ however, it was noted that the family had mistaken the 6 foot bipedal creature for a known animal.

The link between the two phenomena is further strengthened by an intriguing study by Professor Peter Leeson of George Mason University. He plotted UFO sightings and Bigfoot reports on a map of the US and noted a pattern in which states that had more UFO sightings also had more Bigfoot sightings. He points out that most people believe extraterrestrials exist but many don’t believe in Bigfoot. He explores various reasons why there could be such a strong correlation. Certainly, it could be that people from those states are more likely to be prone to fantasy, but we have to consider there is a deeper reason.
The belief of an alien Bigfoot connection is strong in Native American cultures. The Hopi Native American tribe mention ‘Crazy Bears’ in their oral history dating back hundreds of years. They believe Bigfoots are beings who came from the stars in a moon type craft piloted by human like entities who reportedly ejected the ‘Crazy Bears’ into the forests. Furthermore, many different ancient civilisations have documented ‘Gods’ coming from the sky who lived on earth as giants. The Book of Enoch mentions the Nephlim (giants) who were the product of copulation between divine sky beings and humans. And one of the oldest documented text The Epic of Gilgamesh from Mesopotamian mythology mentions a giant or wildman called Enkidu who was created by the god Anu who also came from the sky.
Bigfoot type creatures also feature in British history as far back as the 12th century in the form of the woodwose. These humanoid creatures are depicted as a hairy wildmen with a humanlike faces, often carrying a club. They are almost exclusive to the churches of Suffolk and there are few in the county without at least one woodwose carving. No one knows why they feature so heavily in that particular area. However, it is interesting to note that Suffolk is also home to Rendlesham Forest which has been described as the location of the British Roswell. In December 1980 there were a series of unexplained events and lights above the forest and US Air force personnel from nearby RAF Woodbridge were sent to investigate and witnessed a crashed UFO. Of course, both phenomena in Suffolk could be dismissed as mere coincidence, but there does seem to be a trend emerging in the UK, similar to that of the US.
A mind-boggling theory is that Bigfoot and extraterrestrial entities are actually the result of secret experiments performed here on earth. Several whistleblowers have spoken about underground government labs in the New Mexico desert. One such whistleblower, Emery Smith gave an interview on Gaia TVs Cosmic Disclosure. Smith worked as a specialist military surgeon in the facilities at Sandia & Los Alamos National Laboratories and claims to have been recruited to work in vast underground facilities where he performed autopsies on humanoid hybrid creatures. He was told nothing about the creature’s cause of death or origins and was not able to ask questions or snoop for fear of his safety. Smith does not speculate about whether the creatures were extraterrestrial in origin, an unknown native species or created within the labs facilities. But it leaves us to speculate whether some Bigfoot’s, Greys (and other cryptids) could have escaped from these labs.
Staying on the theme of mind-boggling theories, Zechariah Sitchin and ancient alien theorists believe that humans are not native to planet earth but in fact seeded from extraterrestrials (called the Anunnarki by the ancient Sumerians), originating for the 12th planet known as Nibiru. Although there is no science to back up the existence of a 12th planet, this does not mean Sitchin’s theories should be entirely dismissed. Many researchers have suggested that evolution and the history of planet earth did not happen in the way the mainstream narrative leads us to believe. Furthermore, many Bigfoot researchers claim the creatures are an ancient race who unlike humans, are native to planet earth. The fact that they pre-date humanity by thousands of years coupled with their ability to live in harmony with nature has afforded them some kind of alliance with extraterrestrials.
It does seem that Bigfoot and extraterrestrial share an understanding of quantum physics that must have been perfected over millennia. The interdimensional hypothesis suggests that both aliens and Bigfoot may share the ability to transcend dimensions or utilize dark matter. Many Ufologists, such as Jaques Vallee, theorise that UFOs and related events involve visitations from other realities or dimensions that coexist separately alongside our own. Similarly, Ronald Morehead, who recorded the famous Bigfoot vocalisations the ‘Sierra Sounds’, also suggests there is more going on than we can see with our 3 dimensional eyes. That dark matter is not empty but exists outside the observable human light spectrum so because of the limits of science; humans cannot grasp the bigger picture.
As farfetched as all these theories sound, it’s interesting to note that none of them contradict each other and create a timeline spanning thousands of years.
It’s tempting to dismiss mythology as just elaborate stories, but the questions would remain, how could so many unconnected ancient civilisations have organically mustered up the same stores. And its easy to dismiss whistleblowers as the ramblings of conspiracy theorists but it’s worth remembering that the US government has a ‘black budget’ (estimated at $50 billion dollars) spent on covert operations undisclosed to the public. They would certainly have the finances to operate the type of laboratory Smith describes.
Even Bob Gimlin, witness to the 1967 Bluff Creek Patterson Film has said ‘I have always known that there was something more complex to the Sasquatch phenomenon than it being just a wild animal’.
