Born in Lebanon in 1964, Peter Khoury moved to Australia in 1973. The Khoury abduction is fascinating as it involves DNA samples taken from hair allegedly belonging of one of the abductees.
Peter first had a UFO experience along with his wife in February 1988. It was a simple sighting of a strange object in the sky. It was not until later that year that Peter experienced an event that would change his life forever.
Peter was in bed when something grabbed his ankles. Whilst he remained conscious, his entire body was paralysed and he recalls seeing four small hooded beings to the side of the bed. They communicated telepathically and told him he was ok and that it would be like the last time. He recalls seeing a large needle come towards his head and then nothing.
Waking up in bed startled, he realised that an hour or so had passed. His wife notices some dried blood around his temple next to what appeared to be a puncture mark.

Peter struggled to make sense of what had happened to him. It wasn’t until he read the book ‘Communion’ by Whitley Strieber and notices parallels between both sets of events that he began to start to understand it.
Then in 1992, a further abduction took place. Peter was in bed – it was 7:30am on July 23. He had injured his leg at work and was resting it on the bed. He awoke suddenly to see two humanoid like creatures sat on the bed. Both figures were naked and he could tell they were “not quite human”.
One had striking curly blonde hair that reached down her back and had blue eyes. The other he described as Asian looking with dark eyes and straight bobbed dark hair. Peter was drawn to their odd looking faces that appeared slightly elongated with very define check bone structures. They both had very blank facial expressions and appeared to communicate with each other telepathically.
Peter recalls vividly the blonde being moving forward and pulling his head forcibly to her chest. Peter bit her nipple he thinks in defence; however she appeared not to have any pain. A small piece of tissue lodged in his mouth which started him coughing and the women simply vanished.

With a strong urge to urinate, Peter went to the bathroom. His penis was sore and when he pulled back his foreskin, he found two blonde hairs wrapped tightly around his penis. He struggled to remove them and had a terrible burning sensation whilst doing it. Eventually he managed to release them and put them into a plastic bag for safe keeping. He said of the incident
“The reason I did that was because I knew that there was no way, no way at all, that a hair that size and wrapped around the way it was should have been there…. Thinking of these women, the thing in my throat, the hair, something bizarre had just happened.”
Peter’s cough lasted for several days and he was somehow unable to clear his throat. Then suddenly, his symptom just suddenly stopped.
In 1996, Peter went under regression by Harvard Psychiatrist John Mack. The sessions weren’t particularly illuminating with him only recalling some disjointed memories of being on a table in a brightly lit room. He was clearly reluctant to come forward with his story which in my mind adds to his credibility.
Here comes the science. The hair samples were noted to be almost clear in colour and thin in appearance. Comparison samples were obtained from Peter and his wife. No usable DNA was able to be gained from his wife’s hair, perhaps because it had been chemically treated.

The Anomaly Physical Evidence Group (APEG) carried out DNA testing using PCR (polymerase Chain Reaction). Biologically, the hair was human but was shown not to be from a person who is Caucasian. The hair showed that it had five distinctive markers, characteristic of a very rare genetic group- Chinese Mongaloid. In fact only four other people on record have been shown to have the same characteristic. All were Chinese. All had black hair.
The mitochondrial DNA tested in this case is passed from Mother to child, suggestive that the people with this characteristic DNA shared an ancestor on the maternal side. How could this be? Some offer suggestions that it is a result of cloning experiments between humans and alien species others think time travelling humans may be to blame. The sample also showed two differing DNA results in the root of the hair and in its strand. What is even more fascinating is that it contained a very rare, but not unheard of, marker that makes the person resistant to diseases such as HIV and Smallpox. Useful if you are an alien being traveling to Earth.
What is clear is that it’s a case that is not easily explained, even with the use of DNA technology.
This abduction experience was not the last for Peter Khoury. In 1996, he claims to have seen small hooded figures pass through a mirror in his bedroom and levitated him off the bed.
For me the case ponders some unanswered questions.
Why was the research not published and peer reviewed if it was so significant?
Why would Peter even contemplate having a bag to hand and keeping hold of the hair given the truly harrowing experience he just had?
Why the hair hasn’t been subsequently tested given the ever advancing DNA advancements?
Where and how was the hair stored in the years before it was tested and would that have any bearing on the results?
It is certainly an interesting account and one that will be debated for some time to come.
