Almost 54 years to the day since Apollo 11 touched down on the moon when Neil Armstrong uttered that famous line heard around the world, a small group of humans were gathered in Washington DC making history of their own as the Subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs held its highly anticipated public hearing on UAP.

Opening proceedings, Representative Anna Paulina Luna drew attention to the widespread public belief that critical information about UAP investigations is being withheld from Americans. She stressed the importance of bringing forth details about unknown technologies, non-human intelligence, and unexplained phenomena to the American public.

Ryan Graves, a former Navy pilot, spoke about his squadron’s repeated encounters with UAPs. He described these mysterious objects’ capabilities, including their ability to remain stationary despite hurricane-level winds, and emphasised the need for a formal reporting system to encourage pilots to come forward without fear of retribution. Graves revealed concerns that reporting UAP sightings might negatively impact pilots during reviews, including psychological exams.

David Fravor, the former commanding officer of the US Navy’s Black Aces Squadron, recounted his extraordinary encounter with a UAP in 2004. Fravor’s testimony detailed how he witnessed a “Tic Tac” shaped object close to the ocean surface, exhibiting erratic movements like a “ping pong ball” that covered more than 60 miles in less than a minute. He emphasised that the object displayed manoeuvres beyond the capabilities of conventional aircraft and posed a potential national security threat.

David Grusch, a whistleblower and former intelligence officer from the UAP Task Force, shared information about an alleged government program involved in the recovery of non-human origin craft. Grusch faced retaliation for coming forward, but he remained steadfast in his beliefs, asserting that the US government possesses UAPs based on interviews with over 40 witnesses. Grusch claimed that “biologics” were recovered from some of the alleged crash sites, and that they were of “non-human” origin, a claim supported by individuals with direct knowledge of the program.

During the hearing, Congress acknowledged a commitment to investigate UAPs more openly, signalling a departure from years of discreet efforts. The witnesses called for a reporting system to be put in place for pilots and whistleblowers, and lawmakers were receptive to the idea, aiming to create a program that protects those who come forward.

Key Points

  • Eyewitness accounts and evidence from credible witnesses are being disregarded
  • Service members fear retribution for coming forward with their experience
  • Witnesses have experienced fear for their lives when addressing UFO-related issues.
  • UAP sightings are routine and underreported, causing concern among commercial and military pilots.
  • The stigma surrounding UAP silences pilots and witnesses, hindering accurate reporting.
  • Excessive classification practices by the government prevent crucial information from being disclosed, leading to speculation and mistrust.
  • Government officials may have unlawfully withheld information about UFOs from Congress.
  • Personal accounts from military pilots highlight the presence of UAP in our airspace, with close encounters and specific descriptions.
  • There may be vulnerabilities and weaknesses in defence systems that need to be addressed.
  • Evidence of potential cover-up or concealment of extraterrestrial technology
  • Corporations have sent cease and desist orders to commercial airline pilots who come forward with information about safety.
  • The US government may be involved in a disinformation campaign regarding UAPs
  • The involvement of scientists and engineers is essential in solving the UAP phenomenon, and partnerships between the scientific community and UAP focus groups within government should be facilitated.
  • David Grusch suggests that the government possesses non-human aircraft.
  • There is potential evidence of contact with extraterrestrial beings.
  • Specific individuals and agencies should be called in for the next hearing on UFOs
  • There is a need for further investigation into UAP for national security purposes.
  • The witnessed UAPs displayed advanced capabilities and manoeuvred in ways that exceed current understanding of physics.
  • It is unlikely that any country on Earth, including the United States, possesses the technology to develop such propulsion systems.
  • There is a possibility that UAPs could be collecting reconnaissance information and probing vulnerabilities in our systems.
  • These UAPs pose a potential existential threat to national security.
